The Day Prior to Paris
Sunday, June 13, 2010
Tomorrow, on the 14th of June 2010, I will be leaving for Paris for a week. So you won't be seeing me for the next 5 days. Thus, I will try to include more than one post in this post. Let's see if you can keep up. I was a flying master, master of flying. I was flying so high even telescopes couldn't spot me. My aircraft of choice was a car made entirely of blue glow-sticks. It could fly by means of brain power, and how bent ones legs are while driving. There was no space in the back, or on the side. I had dubstep playing at full volume, Hektagon was blasting through my non-existent windows, and shaking me down to my core. Hopefully I'll be able to watch the Argentina game in Paris. I'll steal away to a small pub/cafe (cafes are much nicer in my opinion, so I think I'll look for a cafe first). Try to not use extremely cold potato mash. This is an error I commit regularly, and it leads to extremely painful cerebral spasms, and jolts in your joints, particularly at the elbow region. Add oats, about 1/5 of the amount of mashed potato you have. Mix the baking powder with the flour, also about 1/5 of the amount of mashed potato (this is to be done very well, for we don't want unevenness in the final product). I crashed on a planet that was pretty much a cross between industrial England and Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory (or now that it belong s to Charlie, I guess it would be correct to say Charlie's Chocolate Factory). I landed in a chocolate river, where I was saved by a handsome young Johnny Depp, and then brought into his purple and pink house. It was three stories high. The bus ride will take 5 hours. We're stopping in both Belgium and Germany on the way. I must remember to charge and empty my camera- hitting Belgium, Germany and France on the same day will hopefully have a net yield of gorgeous pictures. Pour the flour mix in, adding a teaspoon of sugar, and a table s poon of salt. Hold the bowl with one hand, and with the other knead the picture until it is smooth. Add two tablespoons of canola oil, and knead. Ready the oven, I don't really care to what temperature or for how long. Ready your pan by cutting a piece of parchment paper and spreading flour all over. Roll tablespoons of mixture on to the pan. Leave approximately 5-10cm between each blob. The thing with Johnny Depp was that he said he would fix my aircraft car, and in return I would have to clean his house every day. It was nice, for all the cleaning tools were neon colours and made funny noises- a bit like everything in the Cat in the Hat. He never fixed my aircraft. I had to escape by swimming in a grape jam river that launched me into space. I fell through space and was never found again. I'll make sure to post lots of pictures from Paris, and I will try to have the time of my life. Dip your fingers in flour and gently tap the blobs into flat circles. Insert your tray in the oven and wait until your "potato bread" is golden, and remove from the oven. Now enjoy. Avoid mashed potato with cheese. PS. All I can think of is biltong. It's strange it's not imported to Holland. I'll see you next Saturday. -Kristiina Labels: bread, cooking, holland, paris, recipe, stuff |
