Monday, June 28, 2010  Oh hello, I haven't posted in a few days... Since well, I've been busy. On Saturday I wasn't really busy... or was I? I don't remember Saturday at all... Wait, I do remember a bit- I remember going outside and taking some photographs of random things that I passed in the small 2 block radius. On Sunday it was drama, I went to Durbanville to actually go to a fan park to watch the England - Germany game... When I got there I first met up with a friend of mine Jamy, and we walked around talking about work- sounding like old people. And then we eventually went to check out the fan park and alas... There was none there this weekend, now this was 55 minutes drive from my home, so instead of going back to watch the game at home we decided to go to the real fan fest in Cape Town itself... But not before we played some foosball and beat some cocky people who thought they could beat us. They walked up and were like "Winner keeps the table", so Jamy and I beat 4 of them before they left, it's really funny since I play foosball maybe 3 times a year and don't care much for it. But me being the man that I am, I win at everything I do. -ahem- I also managed a chuckle when I went to buy food and bought CAR magazine which has a logo on the front saying "Voted Coolest Mens Magazine"... So I kept telling Jamy, "See I'm a real man... Real men own car magazines, none of this metrosexual shit"... And as I opened it up I'm like "erm... dude... so much for being manly"... The third page of the magazine was a Nevia moisturizing body lotion ad with a free sample... I'm sorry but that is as far from manly as you can get... They should have samples of oil or petroleum! Not moisturizing body lotion! But we managed to get to the fan park at the half time break and was totally worth it to catch the second half, the atmosphere was amazing. There were probably around 2000 people crammed into an outside area with a huge TV, and every goal there were shouts, screams, tears and just emotion. And everyone was all united, the guy infront of me was a gangster and even he was getting into the spirits, not killing anyone today. He was probably around 45 and had "28 Salute Boy XXVIII" on the back of his hat written in pen. 28's is the highest level of the prison gang 'the numbers' in South Africa. And they usually rape other inmates and kill them, initiation into being a 27 which comes before 28's is a initiation kill. I'm not hoping to go see the Ghana game this weekend at the Fan Fest, it definitely makes for memories that won't be forgotten, and I'd really love to see an African team make it far in this world cup.
